Starting as Body Builder's Discount Outlet Inc., we carefully selected a core range of strength equipment, free weights, and accessories, focusing on durability and performance at the right price. Early success, driven by word-of-mouth, catalogs, and national advertising, confirmed the demand for accessible, quality fitness gear. Our inventory quickly diversified, adding soft goods, belts, gloves, flooring, and eventually expanding into a comprehensive selection of cardio equipment including treadmills, rowers, and bikes. This broadened scope and the evolving fitness landscape inspired the transition to the name Fitness Factory. While expanding our national and international reach through shipping, Fitness Factory established its first retail presence in the Chicago area, our company's home.
